 riggs. beautiful filter.

i notice on a lot of your filters you hard code values for price and volume. how do you decide upon these numbers?

for example, in this filter we have stocks above $20, and a 90 day average volume above 150000. where did this come from?

 eager to learn. thanks!

Yes it was me that you helped with your DMA filter. I wasn't sure if you used the same setup on this filter as your DMA. Is it the same?

 Thanks

The reason I asked because in the post "THE MIGHTY RIGGS HAS DONE IT AGAIN PART I" you said to glm47 to use the following setup:

Very simple. When your LIVE 15-min. chart reads like this....

 1. EMA(10)crosses EMA(20)
 2. Parabolic Sar crosses under price
 3. +DI is above -DI, & +DI is above 20
 4. Price is below MIDDLE band of Linear Regression Line (60)
 5. Price is above 200 MA

 Don't enter a stock if.....

 1. Close crossed above MIDDLE band of Linear Regression Line(60)

 OR

 2. +DI fell BELOW ADX(14)within the last five(5) sessions

If you do all this and nothing else, your entries will be right in line.

 RIGGS
 End quote

Could you tell me what is the difference with these two filters (the one above and the one in this post) and what would make one use the setup you helped me with and the one you mentioned above?

 Thanks

 Mattman

I tried running this filter that is supposed to be very good, but over the past several months in my backtest it actually was only about break even. But everybody in this thread says it is an awesome filter, producing 90% winners, etc. What am I doing wrong in my backtest? Is 3 days the maximum holding period? What are the parameters for stop loss and stop profit, or other exits? I would like to see for myself that this filter actually works in backtesting, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it work. Please help.
