The 2% rule usually applies to the amount you are willing to lose on a given trade, not the trade size. I intentionally do not use stop losses like that, but rather rely on strong systems with proven results and high win percentages.

@kevin - understood but what I getting at is that 2% of a trade that size is still a big number at risk.. to me
I trade several ways for quite a while now. What I find with my high prob Algos is the outliers are a bitch. A good example is the past few months. I had 84% prob trades on the SPX and for the past three months they have been losers because the systems don't accommodate for outlier moves like this. Nat gas is another good example. I don't use stops either.
